Riding Center Advisory Committee

Barrington Countryside Park District seeks 2 candidates to serve in an “at large” capacity on the newly created Riding Center Advisory Committee. The purpose of this 6 member committee is to provide input and assistance to the Park Board. Other representatives on the Committee are 2 from the Riding Club of Barrington Hills, and 2 from the Fox River Valley Pony Club.

At Large:

A rider to represent needs, interests, and views of riders whose main interest in the Riding Center is dependency on the facility as their main facility for riding. Candidate may or may not be affiliated with any Club. If affiliated with a club, would not act as a representative for the Club in this capacity.

Qualifications

• Resident of the Barrington Countryside Park District

• An equestrian who is a frequent user of the Riding Center and who is familiar with the needs, interests, and riding disciplines of other users of the Riding Center.

• May or may not be affiliated with RCBH or FRVPC

Duties

• Promote safety and courtesy among users at the Riding Center

• Seek ideas and opinions of Riding Center users

• Provide input, comments, opinions, and assistance regarding Park Board policies, procedures, projects, and planning

• Assist Park District with Riding Center improvements and maintenance projects

• Assist the Park District with rentals

The Park Board relies heavily on the input from the Advisory Committee. This committee is the one formal channel of input and influence to your Park Board and your views and suggestions are taken seriously and valued by the Park Board.
